Program and the Ministry of Environment have mobilized a top–up funding from the Global Environment Facility, to carry out Phase II of the climate change enabling activity project. The project, started in November 2001 and with duration of one year, has set several objectives mainly related to capacity building, training, raising awareness, and fund mobilization

In 2007, the Ministry of Environment, with funding from the GEF, and in cooperation with the UNDP, has launched the enabling activities for the preparation of Lebanon’s Second National Communication (SNC) to the UNFCCC project.
