- South Lebanon workshop: July 31, 1998
- Mount Lebanon workshop: August 20, 1998
- Second National workshop (Beirut): November 1998
· Activities promoting public awarness:
- Establishment of the project website within the Ministry of Environment home page.
- T.V. spot expressing the importance of plants and animals was prepared and shown on the local T.V. stations
- Poster representing the cycle of liife with English and Arabic sub-titles (2000 copies)
- Pamphlets covering information on three plants and three animals was distributed to 800 individuals who participated in various activities
- Caps, pads and folders carrying biodiversity identifications were distributed to participants in the workshops.
The main objective of the project is the preparation of the NBSAP to fulfill the requirments of article 6 of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The objectives and action plan of the NBSAP focus on conservation, sustainable use and benefit sharing of biodiversity.
