Environmental problems don’t stop at the border: New brochure on LIFE-Third Countries 1992-2006 Environmental problems must be tackled in co-ordinated and trans-national ways - improving air quality and the cleanliness of rivers, for example, often involve cross-border co-operation. One important tool supporting European neighbours in their efforts to improve environmental quality and capacities for environmental management has been the LIFE-Third Countries programme (LIFE-TCY). LIFE-TCY has co-financed numerous projects supporting the development of environmental policy and management capabilities in EU-bordering regions. Some of the many achievements of the programme are illustrated in this publication, which outlines 15 years of LIFE-TCY. [download]
