Aim		To assist the Ministry of Environment to further assess national capacity building needs, identify specific priorities, analyze instituional and functional capabilities and determine mechanisms to protect national biodiversity in accordance with the NBSAP recommendations, the GEF and CBD/COP guidance.

Objectives		1-Follow up on the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the COP decisions 2-Identify biodiversity priorities and assess national capacity building needs 3-Assess capacity building needs in biodiversity monitaring including taxonomy 4-Set up an adequate institutional structure for the conservation of national biodiversity 5-Develop/Follow-up on necessary legislation for biodiversity conservationPrepare the necessary reports to be submitted to the COP/CBD.
