*Impression of Children's World Summit for the Environment 2005 Aichi

I learned environmental issues that exist in other countries and of the importance of taking action against them. It made me resolve to myself to start where I can. I have also been exchanging emails with other participants at the Summit.

*Others

For the first time I took part in the "Horikawa (river) Expedition, Team of 1000" to do research on the water quality of Horikawa. We collected water from above Koshio Bridge and measured the COD value. On rainy or windy days, and also on days after heavy rain, the water changes. Encountering turtles and water birds was really nice. And at the same time it concerned me greatly to witness oil floating on the water surface. It was amazing when they found a salamander which they later named Hori-chan. I hope he is doing well and living strongly. I cannot help but to hope for the return of the limpid stream of Horikawa. After the Summit, I've also become interested in inviting foreigners to stay at my house. A sixteen year old girl from Malaysia stayed at my house from December 22nd to January 7th.
