School
About 87 persons
Eight groups consisting of one leader from each three grades and another seven or eight students. (A ~ H)
Maintaining the beauty of our school. We pull out weeds and plant seasonal flowers. Some members sweep up the fallen leaves.
*Nature Conservation
A total of eight groups, groups A to H, take turns cleaning the school courtyard.
Students work well together regardless of their age. Seniors and juniors seem to get along very well.
Instead of coercing our students into taking part in the activity, we encourage them to do so voluntarily. The courtyard maintains its beauty while students enjoy their activity.
School Beauty Times
We write articles about our activities, such as planting seasonal flowers, and hand out the newspaper to each classroom. It is issued irregularly.
I am interested in learning about other groups' activities.
Is there anything I could do with you?
I learned environmental issues that exist in other countries and of the importance of taking action against them. It made me resolve to myself to start where I can. I have also been exchanging emails with other participants at the Summit.
For the first time I took part in the "Horikawa (river) Expedition, Team of 1000" to do research on the water quality of Horikawa. We collected water from above Koshio Bridge and measured the COD value. On rainy or windy days, and also on days after heavy rain, the water changes. Encountering turtles and water birds was really nice. And at the same time it concerned me greatly to witness oil floating on the water surface. It was amazing when they found a salamander which they later named Hori-chan. I hope he is doing well and living strongly. I cannot help but to hope for the return of the limpid stream of Horikawa. After the Summit, I've also become interested in inviting foreigners to stay at my house. A sixteen year old girl from Malaysia stayed at my house from December 22nd to January 7th.
