I am interested in the energy issue stated in the Commitment. Currently I am making a research in my integrated studies class at school. Limited resources.. Our earth might be destroyed if we keep on using energies that are about to run out. Therefore, I focused on new types of energy. I visited the Fast Breeder Reactor "Monju" this April as part of my school trip. Gathering all information and knowledge, I would like to let other people know about my opinion on nuclear power plants and new types of energy.
My research questions are as follows:
1. The merit and demerit of new energies.
2. How much space and cost does it take to generate electricity for a general household?
3. How safe is it compared with other electric generation, and would it become widely used?
4. The mechanism of power generation.
5. Can a new energy generate power equivalent to one nuclear power plant?
6. How much space and cost does it take to generate electricity for a nuclear power plant?
I have also made some presentations at school with my friends who also participated in the summit. We are aiming to share what we have learnt with people in our community. I hope people will start showing interest to environment issues.
Finally, I am always aware of saving energy.
