I have focused on the second commitment: We will plant 10 trees monthly. We will never use products made from animals in danger of extinction.First of all, I interviewed some workers in the town office of Nukata about the forests around the area. They told me that currently they are in need of tree thinning, rather than tree planting.
Thus, I participated in a tree thinning activity last November that took place in Asahi Highland, Toyota City.
Although the commitment states to plant trees, I realized that in some areas, it is better to thin the forests.
I attended a lecture of Mr. C.W. Nicole to learn more about the environment, and have also started my own blog to share articles related to the nature. I participate in on-line events of some environment organizations as well.
