Our group consists of biology-loving students of Taki Junior High School. Students participate at their own will and our activities take place in various places. We try to clean the place after activities and always take home the trash.
*Biodiversity
We do biological research of rivers and monitor and follow change each year of the number of categories and of the total number of each organism.
When doing biological research at rivers, we make it a rule to release the organism after getting a count on the number of categories and of the total number of each organism. It is also our motto to take home trash after activities.
We believe that the decrease in the number of the group of organism is affected more strongly by environmental change in their habitat than by their excess extraction.
Insects and Science (one portion) Environmental Ecology and Its Practice (one portion)
With people involved in the protection of organisms.
When protecting organisms, it is most vital to remove the cause endangering their survival. However, a sudden change in the environment may only aggravate the condition. Let our utmost focus be on preventing further damage.
At a time when environmental destruction is becoming prevalent all over the world, it was wonderful to learn of those taking active role in protecting the environment, exchanging ideas of their own, and working aggressively against this problem. It was also impressive that, despite the fact there was a crowd of people from all parts of the world, there was no confusion caused by the difference in language or tradition. On the contrary, participants seemed to come together as one.
It is fun to see many organisms and to learn their names through environmental activities. Encountering organisms that are rarely seen and visiting many places are also very refreshing.
