All of our group members are interested in ecology and desire to take part in related activities. We have meetings and share our ideas to find out what kind of activities could be environmental friendly.
*Nature Conservation
During the summer, we have contact with the elderly people in the area and learn age-old wisdom from them. We also conduct surveys on creatures living in the nearby river. On the other hand, we go camping in the hometown mountains during the winter to carry out some research on the nature.
With the aim of learning environmental issues through contact with nature, children from 1st to 9th grade form groups with junior high school students being the group leaders, and carry out their activities.
We keep the nature blessings in mind in our daily lives, take care of them, and conduct feasible activities.
We would like to know what kind of community-based ecology activities there are and some advice if any from other groups.
When doing ecology cooking or cooking at camp sites, we always try not to produce a lot of garbage. We later measure the amount of raw garbage and investigate what kind of trash emerges. Through these activities, we found out that quite a lot of garbage is produced from cooking. It is also advisable to check how much waste we produce from ordinary cooking.
It really moved me to see so much people from different countries gathering in one place. Unfortunately I was not able to communicate well due to my limited English. Yet, through discussions in our action group, I felt that we all share a common feeling and passion in taking care of our environment regardless of our nationalities.
We hope to expand our environmental activities by meeting and interacting with many people as possible.
