*Missions and activities of your group/project

We aim to carry out activities in nature that remain in our community. Providing information on the wonders of our local nature to the people around is part of our goal. We open the "Oba River Museum" once a year in our community in order to convey the beauty in nature.

*Characteristics of the group/project activities

Our main objective is to promote nature in our community to the local people. We conduct activities such as fishing and water surveys outside the region as well. These activities began with the aim of capturing the interest of people outside the region towards nature.

*Most importnat way of thinking of your group/project for environment

Our goal is to show affection to the natural environment by being interested in nature and carrying out fishing and water surveys, and other fun activities. We believe that by increasing companions who love nature, we can further develop environmental protection and nature conservation activities.

*What kind of group/project do you want to exchange for imformation and experience with?

Exchange information with kids' groups engaged in fishing at rivers and lakes. It would be lovely if we could invite such groups to Oba River and have fun together doing fishing, whereas visiting their field and take part in their activities as well. We would like to have discussions with other groups on topics like how to have fun activities and how to protect the river.

*Short message for exchange with other group/project

We are an eco-club enjoying activities with our parents. During the summer we go to the river and do fishing, while during winter time we observe the waterfowls. We would like to have contact with other groups working on similar activities near the rivers and lakes.

*Impression of Children's World Summit for the Environment 2005 Aichi

I was glad to be able to meet other fellow children who are striving to protect the environment. To learn that there are many children in this world engaged in environmental activities inspired me to be more aggressive in my own activities. Even though each of us has different activity fields, we all share a common enthusiasm towards environmental conservation. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to get to know about other case studies around the globe and to interact with other participants. I am grateful for being able to participate in it.

*Others

I learned that it is important to exchange information with children from other areas and region as well as to take part in activities in the local community.
