Elzein Discusses with the World Bank’s Board of Directors Aligning LEAP 2025 Activities with World Bank Environmental Safeguards
Her Excellency Dr Tamara Elzein held a meeting with World Bank Board of Directors to agree and fine tune on the activities and align on envronmental safeguards related to the LEAP project.
Leap project, ratified by the parliament is a US$250 million loan from the World Bank to Lebanon to support the most urgent repair and reconstruction of damaged critical public infrastructure and lifeline services, and the sustainable management of rubble in conflict-affected areas.
The Lebanon Emergency Assistance Project (LEAP) will prioritize and sequence interventions to maximize economic and social impact within the shortest timeframe and provide a phased approach to response, recovery and reconstruction.
